1. Product Description
The Butyl Sealant Extruder is a key machine used in the Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) production line. It applies a uniform layer of butyl sealant onto both sides of the aluminum spacer, ensuring excellent moisture barrier and long-term sealing performance for insulated glass.
This butyl coating machine features precise temperature control, adjustable coating speed, and stable extrusion, making it ideal for glass factories of all sizes.

Automatic Butyl Sealant Extruder Machine for IGU Spacers
The Automatic Butyl Sealant Extruder Machine is designed to apply hot-melt butyl sealant to both sides of aluminum spacer bars during insulating glass unit production.
Butyl sealant forms the primary sealing layer of an IGU. A continuous and uniform coating helps prevent moisture penetration and supports the long-term sealing performance of double and triple insulating glass units.
This machine combines touchscreen control, servo transmission, adjustable coating parameters and three operating modes. It is suitable for insulating glass manufacturers that require stable coating quality, flexible production and reduced operator dependence.
Precise Butyl Coating
The machine heats the butyl sealant to the required operating temperature and applies it evenly as the aluminum spacer passes through the coating section.
The adjustable working speed ranges from 0 to 45 m/min. Operators can select a suitable speed according to the spacer specification, sealant condition and required production capacity.
Stable hydraulic and pneumatic pressure help maintain continuous sealant extrusion and reduce common coating problems such as uneven thickness, interrupted coating or excessive sealant application.
Wide Aluminum Spacer Range
The machine is suitable for aluminum spacer bars from 6 to 40 mm wide. This broad processing range allows manufacturers to use one machine for different IGU structures and spacer specifications.
The automatic width adjustment function helps reduce setup time when changing between production orders.
Intelligent Control System
An air-liquid booster pump, touchscreen controller and precision transmission system are integrated into the machine.
The touchscreen allows the operator to adjust and monitor important production settings, including:
Coating speed
Heating temperature
Spacer width
Operating mode
Machine status
The five-speed transmission control provides additional flexibility for different spacer sizes and production conditions.
Three Operating Modes
The machine supports full-automatic, semi-automatic and manual operation.
Full-automatic mode is suitable for continuous production and helps reduce manual intervention.
Semi-automatic mode provides a balance between automatic processing and operator control.
Manual mode can be used for equipment adjustment, testing, maintenance and special production requirements.
These operating options make the machine suitable for both experienced operators and employees who are learning the coating process.
Stable Servo Transmission
A servo motor and precision transmission system provide stable spacer movement during coating.
The machine is designed for continuous, fault-free operation of at least 500 hours under appropriate operating and maintenance conditions. Its heavy-duty 480 kg construction also helps reduce vibration during high-speed production.
Material and Energy Efficiency
The coating system is designed to achieve a butyl sealant utilization rate of at least 98%. Accurate sealant application helps reduce excessive coating and unnecessary material consumption.
The optimized heating and drive systems can reduce energy consumption by approximately 15% compared with conventional machine designs.
Actual sealant and energy savings may vary according to production speed, spacer dimensions, sealant type and operating settings.
Optional Configurations
The machine can be customized with additional functions, including:
CCD vision positioning system
Automatic spacer cutting unit
Multi-station coating modules
Customized coating-width adjustment
Production-line connection options
The final configuration can be selected according to the customer’s spacer specifications and IGU production requirements.
